Abstrakt: The article presents quotes from notable people in education in the U.S. Superintendent David W. Harlan considers intelligence and virtue as foundations of loyalty for free institutions. Doctor E. O. Lyte believes that there is as much mental development in the study of grammar than in any subject taught in school. Henry Ward Beecher points out that there is no exact profession, no penniless economy, and no policy that would allow further decrease in teachers' wages.
