Abstrakt: The article presents a travel account of adventurer and veteran kayaker, Scott Sanderson. He traveled through the Tibetan plateau to the South China Sea along the Mekong River. He saw so many celebrations of births and deaths that he felt the essence of the ebb and flow of life. He saw Indochina's diverse cultures. The river has the third highest diversity of fish in the world. The river basin has opened to tourism and exploration over the last ten years. INSET: Exploring the river from mouth to source.
