The article reports on benefits of telemedicine in the treatment of emergency cases in the Shetland Isles. The government of Great Britain had established a telemedicine link between the accident and emergency departments of the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Scotland and the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Shetland Isles. A case of an odontoid peg fracture, that was treated in the hospital with the help of telemedicine has also been discussed. |
