Abstrakt: The article investigates the feasibility of aerosol administration by means of a pressured metered-dose inhaler (pMDI)-spacer in young children who are sleeping. Thirty children with recurrent wheeze daily inhaled a single puff of budesonide aerosol while awake and during sleep. Parents scored the child's symptoms of asthma, degree of cooperation, and the feasibility of administration on diary cards. Results indicated that the use of pMDI-spacer while sleeping has no advantage as a treatment.
