Samples of commercial electric-grade ceramic before and after exposure to γ rays (21 Gy·sec) and a thermal neutron flux (3·1016 sec1·m2) at temperatures 300900 K in the frequency range 0.330 kHz are investigated. The changes in electric conductivity and dielectric losses are discussed on the basis of a model of a disordered dielectric with electrically charged, locally uncompensated, structural defects. Correlations are made between the number of structural defects and the total internal surface area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
