Abstrakt:	The article discusses the conditions of mentally retarded children in regular educational programs. Educators are aware that most mentally retarded children are unable to cope with the curriculum set-up for the regular child. Most often, the educational needs of the mentally handicapped children are met in a manner which cannot bring optimum learning to them. Studies have shown that special children needs specially adjusted program built around their particular needs.
