Abstrakt: The article reports on the election of Sidney Edward Mezes of the State University of Texas, at Austin, as president of the College of the City of New York. Mezes succeeded John H. Finley who became Commissioner of Education of New York State. Mezes will be rising from a salary of $5,000 to $12,000 and will be at the leadership in higher education in America's cities.
