Abstrakt:	The article talks about the military research and development process and how effectively it is carried out. Recent studies have shown the inadequate performance of the system producing military hardware. Countries need to have a strong military posture in order to fight actual conflicts and to deter potential war. The major groups directly involved in the weapons acquisition system require the deployment of technological options for valid acquisition decisions and useful hardware as needed. The problems and some ways of improving the processes in the weapons acquisition system are offered.
