The article reports that the University of Mississippi's Department of Afro-American Studies will present a symposium on the progress of minorities in higher education. According to the article, the symposium will commemorate the anniversary of the enrollment of James Meredith, the first African American to enroll at the university. Symposium organizers claim that the legal barriers to the enrollment of minority students in higher education have been removed. |
