The article presents a factor analysis of the Test of Interests, developed by G. R. Meyer, which measures various aspects of science interests and of attitudes toward science. The result of the test is a science orientation score, which is assumed to provide an overall measure of a student's inclination toward science. The investigation is based on intervariable correlations derived respectively from the recent study of hundreds of tenth-grade high school students in Israel and from Meyer's previous study on 680 G. C. E. O-level students in England. It indicates that there exists a general coherence among science the science interest and attitude variables. |
