The article focuses on the study on how to improve science teaching in elementary schools in the U.S. It aims to identify the areas in which teachers show weaknesses and need improvement in their science teaching, test the impact of grade level on the perceived science needs of teachers, and test the effect of the teachers' experiences on their perceived science needs. The findings suggest that elementary school teachers need to have realistic science experience to develop their basic science skills, to develop their understanding on the connection of science to society, and to provide realistic science experiences for the students. |
