The article focuses on the status of Sophie Delezio after a second car accident. Her parents, Ron and Carolyn, are praying for a miracle. It was just before Christmas 2003 that Sophie Delezio's name first hit headlines in Australia, when a car crashed into the Roundhouse Childcare Centre at Fairlight, Sydney, New South Wales trapping the sleeping two-year-old and her friend, Molly Wood, beneath its chassis before exploding into flames. Sophie is now in a stable condition at Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick, surrounded by lifesaving equipment like that bought for other children by the Day of Difference Foundation, the charity Ron and Carolyn set up after Sophie's first accident--never dreaming his daughter would ever need it again. |
