Abstrakt:	The article discusses the factors that contribute to the shortage of minority teachers in the U.S. It is expected that the 12 percent of the nation's teaching force consisting of minority teachers recorded in 1980 will drop to 5 percent by the year 2000. Such shortage bears a deep implications for minority students and society as well. Reform standards in the teaching profession have contributed to the decline of minority teachers.
