Abstrakt: |
The article reports on the elements of leadership strategy in academic administration. The deans are the ones who takes on the leadership roles in academic administration. There are differences in the factors of leadership strategy being considered by the high status schools and low status schools. The factors that high status schools consider include quality faculty, student affairs including strong admissions policies and placement service, and the basic research function. Leaders in school administration also place importance in public relations, visibility, and reputation building. Cognitive and personal skills of leaders must be developed for a better academic administration. |
