Abstrakt: The article reports on the levels of lead (Pb) in urban soils from selected cities in a central region of the Philippines. Lead is a naturally occurring elements that poses hazards in the environment when present at elevated concentration. It is ubiquitous throughout the global ecosystem and it is being released into the environment because of industrial uses and from the combustion of fossil fuels. Data gathered from the study areas showed elevated levels of Pb in soil primarily due to vehicular emissions and partly due to igneous activity.
