Abstrakt: The article discusses the effect of elementary science materials towards the learning of the exceptional child. The study was conducted to mildly retarded and specific disabilities. The intermediate grade learning disability class were given pretests consisted of three Piagetian conservation tasks. The primary grade mildly retarded class obtained Slosson Intelligence Test, the Metropolitan Readiness Test, Form A and five Piagetian conservation tasks serve as a complete pre and posttest for only five subjects owing to the instability of the group. The result of these two pilot studies shows that the use of manipulative science materials may prove to be of benefit in the educational experiences of handicapped children.
