Abstrakt: The article discusses the settlement of Diadema antillarium Philippi that measured at two barren ground sites such as Abades and Masca between April 2002 and April 2003. This is use to assess the sustainability of settlement collectors and to achieve settlement patterns of this keystone herbivore in the subtidal rocky bottoms of the Canary Islands. Three samplers that have small plastic balls with high exposed surface area were deployed every month over 1 year.
