Abstrakt: Presents findings of a study on the biological effects of an engineered vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGFa)-activating zinc finger protein (ZFP) in a model of hindlimb ischemia. Role of the engineered ZFP transcription factor in activating VEGFa gene expression; Result of adenovirus-mediated expression of the CFP in skeletal muscle; Mechanism that results into a different expression profile of downstream angiogenesis-associated genes.
