Abstrakt: The article reflects on the efforts of Carl Patton, a Georgia-based civil servant, to renovate Georgia State University (GSU). In 1992, Patton took the helm with a vision for revitalizing GSU that has reshaped the downtown landscape. Patton's massive overhaul of the GSU included student life improvements, like the addition of a major new recreation center, and the university recently broke ground on new downtown dorms that will house 2,000 students, almost doubling the school's residential capacity and helping expedite GSU's plan for all traditional freshman students to eventually live on campus. Part of this vision includes construction of sorority and fraternity houses.
