The article discusses the role of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in establishing peace around the world. In January 1994, the NATO endorsed a common approach toward future political and military integration of its former adversaries. The NATO launched a cooperation program named partnership for peace to identify where and how the Alliance could assist in transforming the respective military establishments of partners. |
