The article discusses the mathematical theory of the roller drafting process for textile fibers with reference to worsted spinning and its application to conventional, Casablancas and Ambler Super-drafting process. These drafting devices ensures that the fibers are moved steadily forward from the back rollers. The conventional system is not qualified in satisfying the conditions for low drafts, while the Casablancas deals with higher drafts and so with the Ambler-Super draft based on its limiting values. The performance of the Ambler Super-draft depends on the proper placement of the super-draft unit to the froot rollers. |
