The article cites an experiment which investigated the flow of potato starch and maize starch pastes through capillary tubes. The objective of the experiment was to define the method and nature of the measurements which are required to describe the fluid properties of starch pastes. Ostwald, Coutte and Ubbelohde viscometers were employed to determine the viscosity of the pastes through the tube. The viscosities of solutions have been studied at 90°C. An overview of the process, materials used and results of the experiment is offered. |
