Abstrakt: The article discusses the outcome of wetting of cotton particularly the raw cotton using hot starch pastes. In sizing a cotton warp, the starch or other solid elements of the size may land on the surface as a protective covering of the yarn or may also be evenly dispersed. One of the several factors that influence the process of wetting is viscosity which acts upon the amount of liquid which flows in a limited time into the hollows of a porous material. While surface tension, which is the force exerted across a unit length lying in the surface and which can be measured in different methods can also affect wetting. It has been also known that temperature in one way affects wetting.
