Abstrakt: The article presents a study which determined the photostability of shrink-resist polymers on wool fabrics after exposure to light for various periods. The study found similar and extensive degradation of wool along sections of fibers directly exposed to the light after washing. After exposure, there was little difference in appearance between unwashed and washed samples. The damage which probably occurred during processing was limited to broken scale edges. The effect of exposure on the felting of untreated wool is also discussed.
