Abstrakt: The article discusses about the water trade and management in Murray-Darling Basin in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and its role as a vital source of water in Australia. It also focuses on ways for the river to meet and sustain the country's needs as well as the negotiations and arrangements regarding rights to Murray River. The Murray-Darling Basin Agreement by the Council of Australian Government (COAG), the participation of indigenous groups in water trade and ways to control water pollution problem was also tackled.
