Abstrakt: In two series of wools, 74-87% of the variation in softness of handle is shown to be dependent on diameter and either crimp frequency or bulk-compressional properties. Results suggest that useful objective predictions of softness could be based on objective measurement of mean fibre diameter and specific volume. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
