Abstrakt: The article focuses on the use of prehospital rapid-sequence intubation (RSI) and provides guidance for sedation-facilitated endotracheal intubation (ETI) and other forms of drug-assisted intubation (DAI). It discusses the significant limitations of prehospital RSI. The studies confirm that the prehospital RSI is a difficult and complex procedure, contains significant pitfalls and may interact with other important aspects of patient care. The procedure of DAI may be use by properly trained and prepared emergency medical services personnel in facilitating ESI in selected patients.
