Abstrakt: The article considers specific issues raised by three commentaries on the author's paper, "Antidepressants and the Chaotic Brain: Implications for the Respectful Treatment of Selves." He responds to Stephen H. Kellert's view of his application of chaos theory as a nonliteral use of knowledge from the natural sciences, Gordon Globus' view that adequate ontological analysis would ultimately overcome dualistic viewpoints, and Jessica Wahman's discussion of the chaos-based model's implications for the concept of free will.
