The article discusses the application of science in the management of injuries related to baseball pitching. Frequently observed injuries in baseball pitchers of all levels include throwing arm injuries. In medical literature, the biomechanics of baseball pitching have been well documented. A distraction force occurs at the shoulder joint in all throwing motions. There is dissipation of energy in the throwing arm after the explosive instant of ball release. Biomechanical analysis can also be used to improve the athletes' performance. |
