The article discusses the design of the modular approach in teaching educational psychology that was developed by the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. The university's educational psychology faculty tried to develop a method of teaching educational psychology that adheres to the diverse needs of both students and faculty. Students enrolled in the Professional Teacher Education were then asked to choose five of the listed modules to fulfill the educational psychology requirement for certification. Problems surfaced in developing a module including that of scheduling, continuity and other administrative issues. Favorable response were expressed by students and faculty, claiming that there is a better awareness among students on their goals in the modules compared to the previous Educational Psychology class. |
