Abstrakt: The article focuses on the professional growth program for teachers in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. The professional growth program was triggered by the earned increment principle and was started through the efforts of a representative committee of Grosse Pointe teachers and administrators. The criteria for advancement within the Grosse Pointe schedule include the completion of a regularly approved course at a college or university, participation in a workshop or other practical course, supplementation of teaching with approved work experience, and participation in other activities.
