Where Teacher Education Programs Fail.

Abstrakt: The article discusses the misconceptions that contribute to the failure of teacher education. Further, it recommends means for the improvement of teaching programs. Improvement of teacher education programs have been hindered by a variety of misconceptions. One concept has showed that at the beginning, teacher must be an artist capable of the richness or imagination that enables him to comprehend the complexities of pupils and their learning and knowledge and to know ways of bringing them into a productive relationship. Teachers should be judged on their craftsmanship because teacher as a craftsman is expected to know the tested strategies for relating to the pupils the subject matter.
