| Abstrakt: |
The article reports on the case of primary malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the thyroid gland treated with external radiation. External beam radiation has been considered in the treatment of thyroid sarcomas, particularly in patients unwilling to receive chemotherapy. Despite the success in such treatment, poor results are still reported of distant disease control obtained in previous studies which suggests that the cure probability can possibly be further improved with adjuvant chemotherapy. |
