| Abstrakt: | The article examines the features of lateritic soils as an obstacle to the food production in many underdeveloped countries. Laterites and lateritic soils are disastrous handicaps to agriculture and occur commonly in the tropical regions. Lateritic soil is rich in iron and aluminum, low in silica and chemically acidic. High temperature and heavy rainfall are basic causes of laterization. |
