The article determines the nature of attitudinal changes of elementary student teachers in elementary schools in the U.S. The authors of viewed discipline behavior as the oral statements of the teacher made for a student to discontinue inappropriate behavior, and personality as an individual's characteristic pattern of behavior as he interacts with others. In the experiment and survey conducted by researchers, they found out that if students were subject to anticipatory socialization two kinds of changes could exist and they are (1) attitudes which reflects the student's stereotypic model of the elementary school teacher would be subject to incongruent change if the student found them to be inconsistent with what teachers do and (2) those attitudes which are central to the student's beliefs and for which they found continued support either from their cooperating teachers, their supervising teacher, or from the direct interaction with children will subject to congruent change. |
