Redefining the Internship.

Abstrakt: The article focuses on the development of internship programs as a tool of providing on-the-job training experiences for students of education in the U.S. Internship program has been introduced after the World War II, to solve the problem of teacher shortage and increasing number of enrollment. John B. Whitelaw, teacher education specialist of the Department of Education, has proposed that a paid internship program could be incorporated to college student's senior years, and the internship program would then replace the old method of student teaching.
