The article focuses on the report "Teachers Education: The Young Teacher's View," summarizes four regional conferences of student and beginning teachers, sponsored by the National Defense Education Act Institute for Advanced Study in Teaching Disadvantaged Youth in the U.S. The report is a description of the conference format and of what took place at each conference. The objectives of the conferences were to identify, clarify, and specify the issues relevant to preparing teachers of disadvantaged youth. The report raises fundamental question concerning the content as well as the form of experience in professional education. |
