Abstrakt: The article focuses on the application of the Q technique in analyzing teacher attitudes. The authors developed a Q sort of the structured type which was divided into perceptions of self, perceptions of others, and perceptions of the teaching task. The study concludes that neither the Q technique nor the particular Q sort developed by the authors can be viewed as solution for the measurement of teacher attitudes. According to the article, some of its limitations relate to matters of semantics, the forced-choice format, and the lack of interval in the data. However, the Q technique has strengths such as its amenability to intra-individual multiple analysis of variance and factor analytic treatments in a variety of research conditions.
