The article presents academic and professional education requirements for elementary school principals in the U.S. These requirements include elementary principalship credential issued at forty-seven states, of which forty-six will be issue the initial credential with an average of 11.6 semester hours of professional education. While, one state will issue the advanced type only, but requires an average of 24 semester hours of graduate professional education. Moreover, professional preparation for the principalship is done largely at the graduate level. |
