The article discusses the family history of Detroit, Michigan-based Dodge Family. In 1886, brothers John and Horace Dodge moved to Detroit and found jobs in a boiler factory. In 1914 the brothers introduced their own car, which soon climbed to the number two position in industry sales and threatened to overtake Ford. The Dodges became major suppliers and stockholders to Ford and their combined net worth grew. When both men died, they left their heirs an immense fortune. |
