How Spelling Supports Reading.

Abstrakt: The article summarizes the importance of reading for spelling. According to the author, spelling and reading rely on the same mental representation of a word. A study found that the ability to read words by sight rests on the ability to map letters and letter combinations to sounds. Learning to spell enhances the reading and writing abilities of children.
