The article compares the disposition of dexmedetomidine and levomedetomidine in small ruminants during sevoflurance anesthesia. Six adult sheep and adult goats were used for the study. Anesthesia was induced with sevoflurane in oxygen delivered via a mask until orotracheal intubation was possible. Findings show that distribution and elimination kinetics of both drugs during general anesthesia are very rapid in both animals. In both, species elimination of levomedetomidine seems to be more effective than of dexmedetomidine. |
