Abstrakt:	The article provides background information on the IRA Outstanding Dissertation Award, an annual award given by the International Reading Association for exceptional doctoral dissertation work in reading or related fields. The award, which has been made since 1964, is presented every spring for dissertations completed and approved during the previous academic year.
