This article reports that the 2006 Sundance Film Festival has selected 73 short films from 4,327 submissions that will screen during the upcoming festival as part of its Short Film program. The festival runs January 19-29, 2006 in Park City, Utah. A total of 42 films are from the U.S. and 31 are international, representing 17 countries. A jury will award prizes based on outstanding achievement and merit in American and international short filmmaking less than 30 minutes. Some of U.S. dramatic shorts films being considered are, "Bugcrush," directed by Carter Smith, "Common Practice," directed by Marcos Efron, "The Debt," directed by Levan Koguashvili and others. |
