The article presents a research on automated quantitative analysis of in situ protein expression, antibody concentration, and prognosis in a study of cancer. By quantification of the exact levels of expression of a series of tissue biomarkers, it has illustrated key weaknesses in immunohistochemistry approaches, the standard for evaluation of protein expression in situ. The antibody concentration, which is determined, can dramatically affect, and even reverse, apparent relationships between biomarkers and outcome. |
