This article presents answers to various questions related to the shooting of films asked by several readers of the journal "MovieMaker Magazine." The questions are answered by filmmaker Rick Schmidt. One reader wants to find out the best digital video camera for under $1,500 for shooting short films and documentaries. He is advised to buy a 3 CCD DV camera that will work well for short films and documentary films. Another reader asks whether a movie shot in digital video is acceptable to film festivals. He is told that in 2004, 47 percent of the work presented at the Sundance Film Festival was screened digitally. Another reader asks whether there is a film plug-in that provides more of a 35mm film look. He is told that he might check out a filter pack for Final Cut Pro from the firm Joe's Filters. |
