Abstrakt: This article presents information on several performance pieces intertwined with diasporic Arab-American poetry to illustrate different facets of diasporic agency. "Sheherazade Don't Need No Visa" is a performance that explores various topics including diasporic conditions. "Stars and Stripes Forever" proves into institutional racism as experienced in diasporic subjects and state-sanctioned violence. Another piece is the "Resisting Arrest: Arresting Resistance," which offers perspectives on how forms of justification are used by nation-states to maintain status and global power.
