The article describes the history and activities of the Play, Policy and Practice Interest Forum of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). A core group of participants from the conferences on play in 1992 continued to meet and invited others to join their seminars and business meetings. In 1994, the group became an NAEYC Caucus. The organization awarded a 1995 Membership Action Grant to the caucus to develop its first newsletter entitled Play, Policy and Practice (PPP) Connections. What had been the PPP Caucus became the NAEYC Play, Policy and Practice Interest Forum in 2001. Interest forums provide NAEYC members with networking opportunities and the chance to participate in communities committed to learning and growing together. |
