Abstrakt: The article provides information on a study which investigated the use of current scientific articles in classroom teaching. One of the main objectives of science instruction is to develop in students the habits of thought and action inherent in the so-called methods and attitudes of science. The teaching arrangement in this study was such that the students in four laboratory sections with their respective correlated recitations were taught by the same instructor. It compared two methods of teaching students. One method, employed with the experimental group, stressed the analysis and evaluation of current scientific articles as a means toward the attainment of this objective. The other method, used with the control group, was concerned mainly with location of student difficulties and the acquisition of factual information.
