Abstrakt: This article discusses intestinal nematode infestations and their laboratory diagnosis. Although the life cycles and pathogenesis of intestinal nematode infestations have been known for many years, it is disappointing to point out that round worms still rank third in the order of the most common diseases of mankind. Recognition of the presence of intestinal round worms begins with an awareness of the local endemic infestations. The difficulty in establishing a diagnosis depends on the degree of parasitism. In many cases of intestinal round worms, the methods for establishing their diagnosis include several stool examinations or repeated cellophane tape preparations to demonstrate evidence of infestation.
